The Class Privilege Meme...

Bold all those that apply to you.
Some of those questions are so weird to me. Are there really lots of kids with an IRA?
Anyway, I didn't have a lot of class privilege growing up, but I did have A LOT of white-privilege. Now I have a lot of both. And it's good to be reminded every now and then lest I get too big for my britches. Some of my successes have had absolutely nothing to do with my skill or merit. Just as some people's lack of success has nothing to do with a deficiency of skill or merit.
There's still a lot of work to be done.

Jesus Mary and Joseph I was barely halfway down the list and it REALLY hit me how freaking privileged I was and still am. On one hand I am happy that I have had such great opportunities to learn and grow and get the attention I needed as a child, to come from a family that had the means to support me more than "comfortably". On the other hand I see how my class privilege (as well as my LOOKING White, although I am actually a woman of color) really puts limitations on my ability to really understand the experiences of other women of color (who look "less white" than I do) as well as poorer women, all the while empathizing and sympathizing with said women....
Hope that didn't sound rambling...
